Hi all im wanting to find some information for my mum inlaw She is looking information about a Edward Moxon born 1901, died 15th April 1971 he lived in Hemsworth and was married to a Doris Allen. My mum inlaw as came across a African star medal which means he served in the dessert. But she is wanting to back this up prob by war records. if any one can find anything linking this medal to him or anything be really appreiated thank you so much  :)

The Africa Star does indeed indicate service in North Africa in WW2.  However, that means his records are still held by the MOD and that you will not find any on-line records specific to the man.

Someone not related can apply for his records although the death certificate is a must.  The process is here https://www.gov.uk/get-copy-military-service-records/apply-for-someone-elses-records
