Hi all,

I have been researching my Edg(e)ley line for many years now.  However, I have recently found Pauseley/Pameley Edgeley.  I have no idea where she fits in - she is unmarried on the two census records below:

1871
RG10/1596 F 76 P 37

1861
RG09/1032 F 123 P 8

Can anyone find out any further information about her?  I have no idea.  I do have an Edg(e)ley/Pearson link, but nothing is coming up in relation to this name.  Any information about family/parentage would be most grateful!

Regards, Emma ;)

In 1861 Samuel Pearson is a nephew age 18 as I expect you have noted.

Possible baptism for him 18 Jun 1843

Wickhambrook

Parents John Pearson and Mary

Can you trace Samuel back to find a link?

John Edgeley and Ann Mason marry 3 Feb 1818 but I don't know if that is the right couple for your Pamela.

What mothers maiden name does the birth for Samuel Pearson show?  I can't seem to find it but family tree has his mother as Mary Edgeley.

Hello,

Thanks for the information.  The marriage of John Edgley (1795- possibly 1825) and Ann Mason is a likely candidate.

It is a line I've not explored before, as there are lots of John Edgleys, as you'd imagine.

John's parents were John Edgley (1774-1846) and Mary 'Polly' Pearson (1777-1805).  John Edgley Snr then married his first wife's cousin, Jemima Pearson.

All I need to do now is to find the right John Pearson to link in...should be simple!  ::)

Thanks again. :)

I have this birth:

Samuel Edgley Edgley
Q Sep 1844
Newmarket
Vol 14
Pg 97
Mother's maiden name: -

Which could make his mother Mary Edg(e)ley, born to John and Ann Edg(e)ley, who was baptised in Wickhambrook on 10th May 1818.

So that would fit

Samuel son of Mary

Mary daughter of John and Ann would make her sister of Pamela

Samuel would be nephew of Pamela as per census
