There are a few Joseph Woods but I need his age to find the correct one

Part answer. His effects and gratuity went to his widow Helen - source Register of Soldiers' Effects.

Sorry I am not following you.  You asked about the NOK for 5293 Joseph Woods of 6 Bn Connaught Rangers, he left his effects to wife Helen.

I am not sure what James Wright of the HLI has to do with the query??

You are correct nok Helen. I was checking details for James Wright HLI and I inserted  his effects details against Joseph Woods in error, blame age. I was hurrying this morning to attend a memorial service in Belfast for the 3 Jocks murdered in 1971.
