On his marriage in 1908 to Eunice Fleet,  Samuel Allen aged 20 gives his father as Joseph Roberts Allen, a Fitter

Joseph Roberts Allen married Elizabeth Ann Cohen in 1885 at St Mary's Church Beswick Father Joseph Allen Engineer.

There are a few possibilities for Joseph ALLEN's death between 1866 and 1871. Just looking in the Lancahsire County there's also this:

1869 at Bury, aged 35 (8c/295)

hi all, im so confused myself, as i said samuel allen born 1888 on the 1891 and 1901 census s living with grandparents, louisa erkersall, was allen his grandmother, up till then i had nt done much research on mary roberts allen and joseph roberts allen, but somehow without me realizing it, (dont know whether it was clicking yes to the 2 census s) after writing on here i went back to ancestry and theres all this info i dont remember looking up about joseph roberts allen, he is the father of samuel, but for some reason samuel is living with his grandparents ?? dont know why as his parents joseph roberts allen and mum elizabeth ann cohen are both alive and living in north manchester, he does marry eunice fleet and move to canada, so thats him sorted i think lol

one last thing the only death record i can find for joseph roberts allen is Death
Sep 1929 • North Bierley, Yorkshire West Riding, England, i know his wife elizabeth ann cohen moves to canada in

1911 • 364 Queen St W, Toronto (south), Toronto South, Ontario, Canada Living with her Son & Grandchildren. The record states she is a Widow, but her Husband dies in 1929??, enough confusion for now lol
