Thank you Rosie; that rules her out.

I have been trying to search the 1851 and 1861 censuses for an Elizabeth the right age with father Thomas (from marriage registration), but no luck so far.

The death date given of 15 Jan 1898 is for Eliza Sophia Tyrrell spinster - probate entry for her.

Just in case

There is another Tyrrell/Curle birth in Shoreditch which is Mary - Jun 1845

Not yet found a marriage for parents to see if he was Thomas the butcher

I suppose we should keep in mind the possibility there never was a Thomas the butcher and he was made up.  Grooms father was also a butcher if I recall.

I can't find a Tyrrell/Curle marriage either or any other children  :-\

Yes, Thomas could be fictitious. I don't know what the marriage registration says, but the groom's father was retired then, having previously been a poulterer and game dealer. The groom's cousin was a butcher...

Would you like me to send you a link to the marriage?  Always better to see it with your own eyes and quite honestly the fathers name isn't all that clearly written :)

Thomas is a pretty good stab at it but see what you think.

Yes please  :)

Southwark St John Horsleydown is Elizabeth's place of residence in the '71 and '91 censuses, so that marriage might be a possibility. Thank you  ;D
