Looking to see if BISA may have any information re

William Charles Laurence/Lawrence

I have him married to Eliza Gifford, but no names of Father's  1854 Trinity church adel.

they have 4 boys and 2 girls that I have found

in the death notice on trove his age is 41.....  on the cemetery record his age is 49? 18 October 1872

trove record say William Charles Lawrence  late of  Margrate Kent   Cemetery record has "Laurence"

I think I've mentioned to you previously that the bride and groom's fathers' names are not detailed on SA marriage certificates until post 1856.

Have you searched on familysearch for a possibly birth/baptism?

Have you searched the online passenger records for SA.  Links on the SA Resources and Offers board.

A strong possibility -

No number for a BISA entry on the passenger list.

Transcriptions to databases are more than likely from hand written registers etc.  Very easy to transcribe LAURENCE from LAWRENCE. Some of the writing on old records is almost impossible to read.

I suggest you notify the Adelaide Cemeteries Authority - email link on burial record - and transcribe the death registration above along with a transcription of his death notice including the newspaper and the date of publication.  I snip the death notice and insert it in the body of the email.  Up to you.  They welcome corrections to their online database and amend them promptly as long as you provide supporting evidence.

he was admitted to the Hospital 18/10/1872  Drover arrived on the Omega..... aged 41 born Kent!!!

He was still in England for the 1851 census which was taken on 30 Mar.  He embarked from Plymouth on 19 Apr.
