Noticed the family search entry for the birth of John Gallagher shown on the 1871 census - 3  June 1865 - parents Bryan Gallagher and Mother's Name Rosanne Nugent.

That matches John's age as 15 in the 1881 census in Hebburn...thank so much Sandra for your help...I only found Michael's birth on there....so good to have you both on board with this and I so appreciate your help

That's a nice find, Sandra. Looks as if Bernard and Bryan might be one and the same?

Think that's my feeling Jen - I've never known of Bryan as an alternative of Bernard before BUT
there are a couple of references online that do say they are interchangeable.

I just noticed that I omitted something else from my transcription of the marriage certificate   
The officiating minister at St Peter's was Dan[ie]l Gallaucher. Coincidence?

I had transcribed Bryan/Bernard's address as Nelson Street, but now I'm not so sure. What do you think?

Is Wilson Street another alternative ? As you say - interesting officiating minister..............
