3 Wesley Terrace , Birkenhead 1903
« on: Tuesday 13 June 17 16:56 BST (UK) »
I have a man giving this address in 1903.
I have tried to find / locate it, but not had much luck. Can anyone help.
I`d like to find who was there in 1901.
Thanks.

Wesley Terrace isn't coming up but there is Church House, 3 Wesley Street, Birkenhead on the 1901 Census. Mary Davies born 1846 Allerton, Caretaker and her daughter Rosa.

Wesley Terrace is or was off Liversidge Road Higher Tranmere and Liversidge Road is off Church Rd. Higher Tranmere.  Hope that helps.

It was at the Church Road end of Liversidge Road, on the even numbered side, before number 2. Not there now.

No I checked directories and found Wesley Terrace in Gore's for 1938.

HOWEVER earlier directories (1900, 1911, 1914) name that same terrace as "Rose Hill" - so maybe there was another Wesley Terrace somewhere.

Aha - there was a Wesley Terrace in (or near) Allerton Road, Tranmere per the 1900 and 1911 directories.

Hmm. In the 1891 census, Wesley Terrace is enumerated between Whitfield Street and Liversidge Road. In 1901 that position is taken by Rose Hill. In 1891 there's a Lightfoot family at 3 Wesley Terrace; in 1901 that family is at 4 Rose Hill.
