James & Hannah's marriage
« on: Saturday 17 June 17 13:55 BST (UK) »
Hi

Can anyone find a marriage between a James Clarke (Clark) and a Hannah Maria Foley, that took place in Staffordshire sometime prior to 1825 to 1830.

The pair can be found living in Hall Fields, Staffordshire in 1841, both their years of birth are given as 1811, but James was born 1808 and Hannah around 1809, possible daughter of John Foley and Sophia Baker.
Neither pair had been born in county and the 1851 census reveals that James had been born in Shropshire and Hannah in Worcestershire.
Although this does vary with census - by 1871 she had been born in Kidsgrove, Staffordshire (possibly listed as so as she was living there at the time!).
She is also listed variously as Maria, Hannah, and Ann Maria.

Thanks
Sue
