Oh thankyou, Myluck!

I can now see that it could well be Rev. O J Herbert.
Those links are great!

Hi,
In the Tithe records
Surname   Forename   Townland/Street   Parish   County   Year
Herbert     O J            Glounkittane   St Anne's Shandon   Cork   1830
this where the above lived.
this is a map of the area.
http://www.irelands-directory.com/Cork/Glounthaune/maps.html
Only 2 Jess names appear in the Tithe, 1 in Kerry and 1 in Limerick.
The one in Limerick is near to the border of Cork slightly north of Charliville, Cork.
