findmypast (pay site) has a hit for a Frank Joseph Osmond in 1938, in records set "Royal Artillery Attestations 1883-1942"
The free view shows his service number: 886282

This record won't give you his full service details but if it is your Frank it might help give you an idea of his early time in the army and give more certainty for when you apply to the MOD.

886282 OSMOND Frank Joseph then it looks like To c Bty C.Dd A. A. 27/4/40 and R.A. Field 17.8.44 and lastly 28.8.47 Para 519 (V) K R 40
