British Subject in Old Castille, Spain

Hi there,

During my research i have come across the following gentleman;

Mr Samuel C Waite
Born 1812
Place of Birth: Changes on census between Old Castille, Spain and British Subject, Spain.

The 'C' middle name i believe is Cornelius as his son named his son Samuel Cornelius Waite. However on 1812 Samuel's baptism record it does say Samuel Charles Waite. So it could be either at this stage.

What does this mean and how can i find out more information about this man?

Have you seen this marriage at Christ Church, Marylebone, 28 Feb 1849?

 Samuel Corneleisson Wayte, 37, widower, gentleman, 69 St John's Wood Terrace, father Charles Wayte, surgeon

and Alicia Mary Blake, 21, spinster, Regents Park, father James Henry Blake, gent

Army lists for the Peninsular War period list a Charles Waite as a surgeon with 83rd Regiment - which fought in Spain.

Charles Waite died at Woodford, Essex in November 1833. There's a PCC Will which mentions his son Samuel.
