Google back button problem
« on: Tuesday 27 June 17 17:27 BST (UK) »
This may seem trivial but it`s really annoying. It`s only started in the last couple of days.
I`m having problems with back button on Google .
1 Google opens fine.
2 A search with results is OK.
3 I choose a result and view the page.
4 But when I try to get  back to list of results  , it is blank.
I can`t even   get back to the Google home page without shutting it down and starting again.

IE Windows 8.1

Circumvention whilst you investigate further .....

Right Click on a search item and click 'Open in New Tab'    .... that will leave the Google results as-is ...

Have you applied any MS updates in the last few days ?

Last Windows security up date was 18 May and it was Ok after that.

Good tip about open a new tab, it works when I remember to do it , still a hassle though

I have been having this problem too over the last few days and thought I had done something silly (not very computer savvy  :'( )

Will need to check when updates were last done but from memory a few days at least before the problem started.

Will try your tip on open a new tab. Must tell O/H its not me - this time.

Wonder if it will correct itself shortly. I have windows 10.

I`ve just found this on the Google Search help forum , seems we are also not the only ones, no response from Google though.

See this for my post and the reply from Google Expert. No response from this last post yet.
If I use my BT Home page,  it reads enhanced by Google.
I search, get a list of results,   choose one and open  - click Back -  go back to result list -  click Back back and I am at BT home page again.
No problems.  Tried exactly same search on Google search and the blank page is there.
