Well done on the marriage  :)

Glad it's all coming together for you  ;D

It's never ending, isn't it?  I'm just happy to finally get through the Sinclair roadblock.  I'm going to the UK in the fall and I'm thinking about spending a couple days in Liverpool to see where my family lived. It is nice to have church and a neighbourhood now, even if the houses are probably long gone.

From your reply I'm assuming you haven't found her mother's maiden name - is that correct?

1871c
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:KZPC-PS5 - Elizabeth not with her parents

Possible births entries for two of the children from the above 1861 census

SINCLAIR, MARY   mmn DAVIES

Is this a possibility for Elizabeth SINCLAIR bn c1848 Sefton?

I found a John Shinglar born in Prees, Shropshire, Aug 2 1818 to a Thomas and Mary sorry I meant Elizabeth.

Shinglar = Sinclair possibly. Can't find any others close that are in Prees in that same time period.  I'm just not up to paying for the actual record right now though.

I suppose it is possible it could be a corruption of Sinclair - when John and Mary married he signed the register as Sinkler.

This Thomas married as SHINGLOR to Elizabeth Done in Prees in 1795 , neither could write and both left their mark in the register.

Here is the baptism - Mother is Elizabeth ???

Thanks!! It's interesting that he is a tailor. John and Mary's marriage certificate says his father was Thomas, a tailor.

ETA: Is there another attachment or just the one?

Well, it's looking quite likely this is what you may be looking for. I can't see any Sinclairs in the register. This couple had quite a few children

Hugh 1810, George 1797,  Joseph 1812, William 1805, Elizabeth 1807 & 1815 , Sarah 1821, Thomas 1803 & 1820.

Interesting there is an Elizabeth, George and a Joseph - family naming pattern, perhaps.

The image is from the parish register.  :) just that one. The (2) in brackets was me tinkering about with the original to make it a bit lighter for you to read ;D
