Doesn't that clogged up in box slow the computer?

Not if one stops using it!!

The mail server will just hold messages until the allocation is full. I use gmail and can just go to gmail website, read them and leave them there, don't have to download them to computer if I wanted.

Many thanks for all the advice, it looks like I have made things worse by deleting so now I will ignore the Hotmail account and send an updated email address to the couple of people who have used this address in the past year or so. Problem should be solved, fingers crossed!

You can close this Hotmail account completely if that is what you want
