I think the same as Archivos the occupation (i.e. the third word in the extract) is hecklar
http://www.talkingscot.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=10283

You wouldn't often expect to see an occupation in a birth record ( thought sometimes you do.  :))

I've seen loads of birth and baptism records which include occupations  :-\
I did wonder if it was possibly a place name within the parish, but the more I look, the more I'm convinced it's hecklar.

It's a fantastic entry - really interesting to know which order the children were born in!

Would also be interesting to know if they survived.

Hi. Thank you all, for your replies. I will try SP tonight to ascertain survival.
Would having them all baptized so quickly, suggest a sickly outcome?

Hi. They married in 1748. William B 1749,John 1751, Thomas 1754, Janet 1755 and James in 1757.
So, possibly some died and were miraculously replaced in 1759. Then Robert in 1761. A busy household. No deaths on OPR 1758 to 1760 on the triplet's names and extending search further, too many names to investigate. Thanks again.
