« on: Wednesday 19 July 17 14:36 BST (UK) »
My ancestors were married in Minster, Kent in 1765, but both were from the parish of Manston, Royal Air Force Chapel, Kent. Can anyone shed any lift on this. There is not much on google

Confused.....the Royal Air Force was not formed until 1918.   :-\

Can you give their names and any other details.  Manston and Minster are about three miles apart.

The date you give is well before the RAF started but there was an airfield there from 1916 due to WW1. In no way could your relatives have been involved in the RAF station church. They would have married at their local church as the RAF Manston church would not have been established.

This link will give you the history of Manston

That might fit if there is a typo and the date should be 1865.

The RAF bit confused me too, details from FindMyPast Canterbury marriages transcript archive u3/164

"Willm" Gifford and Mary Young married 7th April 1765, St Mary the Virgin,Minster in Thanet, the transcript clearly states the bride's parish was Manston, RAF chapel, but there is also anther transcript that says the couple were both from Minster. I have also seen another record that mentions Manston RAF in a baptism record, which I can't find right now. I'm wondering if this is an error by FindMyPast

Image shows William to be of St. Lawrence parish.

I have reported the error to FindMyPast.
