He seems to have been an extremely brave man, injured as he was, he still returned to serve further.

I am unable to find out what section of the RFA he served in and in which battle he was engaged in when he was killed.
The reason he was at Neiuport was for Operation Hush which didn't take place owing to a German attack before they were fully prepared.
Although he died a couple of weeks later the Germans were still very active as they were desperate to hold onto their seaports.
