Hi Allan
I'm Sue Seymour and I think I am related to you. My great great grandmother on my Dad's maternal side was Elizabeth Robson born 1802 and married Edward Flint. Her parents were Robert Robson and Mary Donnison. I have a family tree on Ancestry under Kelly Burt, my daughter's name.

Hi Sue I think your info on Elizabeth is not right, I found the marriage but her parents are not mentioned and i can't find any census records, will please give me all the info you have.
Regards
Allan Robson

Hi Allan,

I've been checking the parish registers for a match to Robert Robson, mentioned in the following article.
https://paperspast.natlib.govt.nz/newspapers/TAWC19440830.2.50?items_per_page=25&query=kawhia+saga&snippet=true
I managed to find a Robert Robson, son of Robert Robson and Mary Donnison, who was born the same date as the "heir" in the newspaper in Corbridge. Does this Robert have a sister named Ann or Jane? The second sister of the family didn't seem to be in the parish records. All I know apart from that is that my ancestor Ann was married to a George Charlton in Whitfield and left for New Zealand from Liverpool.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Ned

Hi Ted,
I am not related but have found some info;

Robert/Mary married 7 Aug 1802 Corbridge
Bapts of children are;
Elizabeth 13 Dec 1802 1st Daug
John 1 Sep 1805 1st Son
Sarah 17 Jul 1808 3rd Daug
Robert 1810 you have 2nd Son
Joseph 31 Dec 1812 3rd Son, Robert now a Gardner

So yes you are correct 2nd Daug is missing.

Mary died 31 Dec 1812 age 34

Robert may have remarried to Jane HUNTER 30 Jun 1814 (marital status not shown)

They bapt;
Mary 1814 and Ann 1816

I did notice a Nicholas Robson was a witness to George/Anns Marriage 19 Jun 1824 Whitfield

There is a burial for a Nicholas Robson 13 May 1827 age 75 (1752)) abode Carrs Mill
May be him or not.

I see on the bapts of George/Anns first 2 children he is a Farmer

Thank you for your help! Since the Ann Robson b 1916 and the Ann Robson m 1924 certainly aren't the same person, I wonder if the newspaper article was accurate when it linked Robert Robson to Ann Robson. It seems rather likely that Robert Robson (Jr) from your family is the same as the one from the newspaper clipping, given the date of birth precisely matches the dob in given in his baptism.

I think if I knew who Nicholas Robson was I'd have a much better idea of what was going on.
