daughter of John Mavin, a Joiner, and his wife Margaret (nee Smith) who lived (mainly) at Glanton
John and Margaret had 7 children:
Mary (1810-1879)
Joseph (1812-1818)
Robert (1814-1818)
John (1816-1902)
Margaret (1818-??)
George (1820-1869)
Joseph Robert (1821-1914)
The first 5 were born at Glanton and baptised at Whittingham. Sometime between March 1818 (when Margaret was baptised at Whittingham) and Dec 1818 (when Joseph and Robert died) they had moved to Lowick and the two boys were buried there. Still in Lowick in 1820 when George was baptised and back in Glanton by 1821 when Joseph Robert was baptised.
In 1821 Dad, John, went to the US and the rest of the family stayed in Glanton.I have info on all of the children from birth, all the census returns, plus various snippets, through to their deaths, plus I have info on any relevant marriages and subsequent children for them.
Except for -
Margaret - baptised at Whittingham on 1st March 1818, baptism record ticks all the boxes, daughter of John and Margaret Mavin, of Glanton, Dad was a Joiner.
and that, so far, is all I know about her.
If anyone can find anything else, I’d be really grateful for hints as I am now utterly crosseyed with looking and it ‘really’ bugs me to be one short of a full pack!
