CheshireBMD is an ongoing volunteer project so transcriptions may not yet have been done for that period/area or uploaded

Why are you looking on CheshireBMD if you already have her birth reg from freebmd?

The birth was actually registered in December quarter 1901.  If you look at FreeBMD you can discover the area covered by the Chester registration district, including places in Wales.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Following on from BumbleB's reference to Wales, I was interested.

I think you may be mixed up with your family.

GRO shows
Beatrice Riley b Frodsham 1884 with mother Francis.
Beatrice Riley b Chester 1901 with mother Whittingham.

Thank you all for your responses.  I am a volunteer for CheshireBMD scanning in all those BDM registers from 1837 I am now scanning Registry marriages at the moment and it is very boring, I have found on the GRO indexes that there are some others missing from CheshireBMD so when I next go in I will check the Birth books - maybe I have missed a page out!  I just wanted to know more details about Beatrice's father.  I have Beatrice's mother as Martha Annie Francis married to William Riley 1884, but if I am on the wrong track can you please put me back on line.  Thank you so much  :)
