Death of Mary Foster, (Mainland) (Halcrow)
« on: Sunday 06 August 17 20:27 BST (UK) »
Hello there, Would some one mind looking up the death record for;
1829 Mary Foster Removed

This may not be my Mary so if anyone finds another then I would be very happy indeed.

Mary married twice.  George Mainland, then as a widow, John E. Foster and her maiden name was Halcrow. The date would have to be between 1825 and 1835. She lived in the Docklands area.

Can you explain the 10yr death span?

Was 1825 when she married Foster?  Did he remarry in 1835?

Any clues as to her birthyear?  There are 5 deaths in 1829 alone

Marriage to George Mainland looks to be 18 Nov 1810 St George in the East to give us some idea.

Mary Mainland to John Edward Foster 2 Apr 1825 St George in the East.

I apologise for not giving you all the details. Here they are :
Mary Halcrow b. abt.28 Nov. 1784, married George Mainland 1810 (George died at sea 1821).
Mary marries J.E.Foster, widower, 2 April 1825, St. George-in -the-East. Edward had 3 children and Mary the one son. There was no issue further for J.E.Foster.
John Edward Foster's first wife Mary Ann Smith died at sea abt. 1822.
In about 1835 he marries a Flora McQueen who then dies in about 1840. In 1842 he marries a Helen Campbell. He dies in 1865.  Was he unlucky or what !!
G. Mainland and JE Foster were both Master Mariners.
In 1814 Mary and George lived in Stepney, Hamlet of Ratcliffe,  and in 1816 John Foster lived in Poplar.
Thank you both for your help.
I hope I've not forgotten anything. MAPS
