Lost! Francis Lotto/Latta
« on: Wednesday 09 August 17 12:28 BST (UK) »
I have Henry Lotto (b. 1828 Glasgow) married 23 Mar 1858 Glasgow, on his marriage certificate he names Francis Lotto (Seaman) as his father and Julia Rose (deceased) as his mother.
On Henry's death cert  he states his father is Francis Latta (seaman, Merchant service) deceased and mother Julia Rose ...........
I cannot find Francis or Julia anywhere!, I estimate from Henry's birth that Francis was b. abt 1808 ? and Julia b. abt 1810? Can anyone help me find anything please :) (ps the Lotto/Latta name variation is normal lol)

Have you found Henry on any census records?

Just wondering if you have a baptism for Henry as more often than not in Scotland it names both parents with mother's maiden name?

With no baptism or census' found it doesn't necessarily mean Henry was born in Glasgow although he married there.

His father was still alive on his marriage, have you looked for his death?

Have you looked for Henry without adding Francis as being in household?
