What I don't know is what happened to elder daughter Ruth Trepess (not George's wife). I assume she married or died but can't find it.

Thanks for these. "Tuesday last" is not very helpful, but I found a calendar for 1917 at www.timeanddate.com which implies the wedding was on the 28th August. Unless it was on the 21st....

That's not how I read it......................"Tuesday last"

more like.................. "which took place on Tuesday very quietly"..............................

28th August would be correct.
