WDYTYA - UK editions
« on: Tuesday 15 August 17 14:55 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I live in the USA but am an ex-pat of the UK. I would like to watch some of the "Who Do You Think You Are?" shows but the UK ones not the US ones (seen most of them already).

I have found a few on YouTube (Annie Lennox was very interesting and she has Ferguson blood too :) ) but the main one I would like to see is the always entertaining David Dickinson. We got his shows over here and my AMerican wife would like to watch that one too.

Does anyone know of a good online resource (it isn't on YouTube) where we could watch it? We have Amazon Prime (not on there either), Hulu (no luck there either) and a Firestick (guess what? No luck).

ANy help would be truly appreciated.

Best regards
Kevin

Torrenting websites?

(I have no suggestions which though, nor do I know how to use them)

You can probably purchase the DVDs online somewhere.

Thank you for your reply.

Torrents = bad  :o . They just are not something I want to go near with a 10 foot barge pole.

I may look at purchasing a DVD or two but the only issue there would be the TV format. I could 'fix' my DVD player but would prefer not too. I will research further.

Thank you again.

Best regards

I did a google search for "WDYTYA UK online" and got a few hits.

http://www.sidereel.com/tv-shows/who-do-you-think-you-are-(uk)#  Seasons 1-13
http://www.tvmuse.com/tv-shows/Who-Do-You-Think-You-Are--UK-_27028/ (has season 14)

Haven't used either of these sites myself!

May it be that a query to the BBC via its website could result in help? No memory of that particular WDYTYA? at all, actually - isn't he the one with a permatan? Something about antiques?

Also interested in Leigh& Burrows,(Lancashire) Griffiths (Shropshire & lancs), Leaver (Lancs/Yorks) & Anderson(Cumberland and very elusive)

Just a thought -have you checked if your local library gets the CDs?
I get them through the library system here in New Zealand.
Because they are non-fiction, you get them for a month and are free.  ;)

If it helps, the David Dickinson episode was in Series 3 and was first broadcast in the UK on 4 October 2006.

And by the way, his complexion is not the result of any fakery.  His mother was Armenian (father unknown apparently).  See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Dickinson
