Seeking a Partridge family (but not in a pear tree)

I have been searching on and off for over 6 years and have only found this information for William Partridge who was born 3q 1851 St Saviour 4 542, he was a General Importers Clerk in St Pancras in 1881.
William Partridge married Clara Ann Potter 23 Jul 1881 at St Pancras Parish Church and died 3q 1894 Holborn 1b 359.

I have been told that his fathers name was Henry Frederick Partridge and mother's maiden name was Smither(s) but have no confirmation for this. I have also not found the Family in other censuses.

ADDED: GRO Online Idex has SMITHER as motherīs Name.

This is odd  ::)   ::)  There is another William Partridge bn Dec qtr 1851 also mmn Smither (duplicate registration?) St Saviours and a death the same quarter

The only marriage for that qtr in 1881 is to a Clara Ann Snook
