Abbreviations in London Electoral Registers

Hi,
I've come across some abbreviations after the names of people I am researching in the London Electoral Registers, and have googled to no avail. There are also different letters next to other people on the same page. Two people in the family I am looking at have the letters AFTC, followed by numbers i.e.
In 1947 and 1948 Henry Frank Leinweber has AFTC/24/1
his father Henry Thomas has AFTC/24/4
There is another man on the page with AFSV/44/1 and one with YAFS/2237764

Does anyone know if these have some military or civil defence connection?
