Hell There,
The above person was one of my 6x Great Grandad's.
He was baptised in Stepney, as my title suggests, in 1760. Enoch's parents were Thomas Alsop, and an Ann(e). Possibly Enoch's Mother's maiden surname was Soper, and she married Thomas at Southwark, in 1756.
Anyway, Enoch married Rebecca Edwards in Bethnal Green, on the 23rd of April 1781.
From what I can see they had these five children:
Mary Ann Alsop - born 10th of September 1781, in Bethnal Green.
Rebecca Alsop - born 30th of December 1782, in Bethnal Green.
Thomas Alsop - born 4th of December 1783, in Bethnal Green.
Rebecca Alsop - born 16th of September 1787, in Shoreditch.
Elizabeth Alsop - One of my 5x Great Grandma's was born in Shoreditch, on the 10th of September 1789.
From what I can gather, it seems that Enoch was a Weaver. This surname I have seen transcribed and written down in different ways: "Alsop" "Allsop" "Allsup" etc.
What I am trying to find out please, is a burial date for Enoch Alsop. There was a Rebecca Allsop, who married a man with the surname of Yates, in Stepney in 1793, according to Find My Past. This could very possibly have been Enoch's Widow. But on the transcription, it does not state whether or not, this Rebecca was a Widow. I have not been able to find a burial for Enoch, on Family Search/ Find My Past.
Any information whatsoever regarding this would be gratefully accepted.
Thank you very much.
