I understand he married Tempe Blacker in Port Said, some time between 1925 and 1930.

Travelling back to Port Said on 7 Nov 1931 with his wife, who was 4 years younger than him. He is ousted as an Egyptian gov official and gives a U.K. Address c/o Blacker, 49 Welholme road, Grimsby.

Thanks, jc26red.  In fact his wife was about four years older, but I've learned never to believe the age that a woman admits to!
And I'll see whether I can find a Cheltenham College register.

Are you still looking? Richard Eldred 4 Jan 1902- I could find out date (geologist with Mobil oil)
Married Tempe Blacker (1907-1986), Port Said. Banns read 20 Jul 1930 London. He died in France (I could find out when) Brother Martin Eldred 1899-1979, sister Margaret (Mollie) Eldred 1903- (I could find date of death) Father Harry Eldred Gubbins 1871-1969(Staines family) Mother Agnes Martin born Bolton 1872 family moved to Staines. Died Singapore 1920s (malaria). Harry's mother was Janetta Eldred hence his children all Eldred. I am related.
