Can anyone read and/or make sense of the rest?

Is this from the 1800's or 1900's?
I'm wondering if the Allan line had a ship called the Amethyst, as it sort of looks like Amethyst Allan to me.

I believe his rank was Seaman (S), and there are three separate voyages shown, the home port being Sunderland (port no. 92):

December 1842 (on the Amethyst)
10 August 1843 (on the Allas? maybe it should be Atlas?),
December 1843 (on the Londonderry).

Ah, it makes so much more sense now, Bookbox!
I looked in the old newspapers and there was a ship named Atlas coming/going from Sunderland in that time period so I think you are right about that name, too.

What newspaper? Where can I find info on these ships? Google isn't returning anything

Findmypast (subscription required) has a selection of old newspapers, and most papers back then had a "marine news" section listing the coming and going of ships.

Also try the CLIP index, where you can search by ship's name, port of registry, official number etc.
