Baptised at Deal, 16 June 1852, parents William and Sarah.

He is with his parents in Deal in 1891, a mariner, "married" but no wife present. RG12/738/113/16.

Now found them in 1881, transcribed as Sadler but the original says Sneller.

They're at 6 Dolphin St, Deal - no children. RG11/998/79/25

William Sneller is with his mother Sarah in 1911, living Almshouses, Beach Road, Deal, and claiming to be widowed.

I am rather intrigued as to what may have happened between William and Amelia. Was she unhappy and seized her chance when he was away (at sea, once assumes)? I think I will buy the marriage certificate for Amelia and William Small, and see what she gives for her status. Have I found a bigamist? :o
