Thomas Price - Driver WW2

I dont have much service information other than my dad thought his dad was a driver in the war and may have been in the REME.....but where do i start trying to identify / locate service records / medal entitlement for my grandfather Thomas Price Born 1906 Hulme, Manchester...he survived the war and died in 1966........ive attached photo of him in uniform....

WW2 service records are still with the MOD but you can apply for a copy, cost £30.
