Sarah Elizabeth Jacobs 1853
« on: Tuesday 26 September 17 10:04 BST (UK) »
Hi i am trying to make sense of this

i have sarah elizabeth coble marrying  john jacobs 1907 ( after his wife died )

on looking further
i find she was married to  herbert coble 1877
maiden name  jacobs ( they had children  from census records  so i am guessing she was a widow)

i find her on 1861 census
with grandparents
thomas everett and mary

looking further i find a christening  1852 edgefield
william jacobs and mary

the trouble is now i find i have a william jacobs 1823  married to an elizabeth everett , not mary

is this why she was with  grandparents
was she illegitimate  or  am i linking her to the wrong william jacobs

all the above jacobs are part of my wider Jacobs Tree

thank you for any help .

andrea

There's a William Jacobs and Sarah Everett in the same household in Egefield in 1851
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:SG6W-ZCQ

Sarah was from Baconsthorpe, seemingly a daughter of Thomas and Mary. Who have their 22 year old daughter Elizabeth with them in 1851

A widowed Elizabeth Jacobs in 1861, age 32 born Baconsthorpe

Could be Elizabeth Everett, but were she and William ever married?

I think the 1851 marriage in Erpingham is probably correct. Edgefield was in the Erpingham registration District until 1938.
