Terence Murphy, Dublin
« on: Friday 29 September 17 07:33 BST (UK) »
Hi RootsChatters
Wondering if someone has access to "find my past" for a convict record. I am on ancestry but no luck.
Looking for Terence Murphy, age 18 born c.1822, tried Dublin 27/04/1840. His crime was "Felony Tarpaulin" ???. Sentenced to 7 years. He arrived in Australia on the ship "Pekoe" 1840.
I have also searched Familysearch.org where it said the records were but had no luck.
Would like to fins out if there were any petitions by his family & also the court proceedings.
Thanking you in anticipation
regards

Hi Ciderdrinker,
Thank you so much for the quick reply - sadly not much but grateful for your effort. He didn't fare very well in Aussie, died aged 37 - insanity.
Once again many thanks
