Robert Joseph Craig born 18/2/1905
« on: Sunday 01 October 17 15:20 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find a death record for Robert Joseph Craig, who was born in Brighton Street, Govan in 1905. He married an Annie Fyfe in December 1931 in Glasgow, but I cannot find any trace of him after the marriage. He was a ship's cook (Merchant Services). Any pointers would be much appreciated.

I think I have found the reference to Annie's death on Scotlands People.

CRAIG
ANNIE
87
MCCORMICK (mother maiden name)
1991
613/ 792
Glasgow, Martha St

This would fit as Annie Fyfe was born in 1904 and her mother was a Margaret McCormick.

I will order the certificate and see if Robert Joseph Craig is mentioned on this.

Thank you Annie.

That will help a lot & it may be that Robert's middle name was omitted for whatever reason depending on who registered his death?

Do you know if they had children?

Hi Annie, I do not know if Robert and Annie had children or not. Robert's father was also called Robert Joseph Craig. He was born in Portglenone, Antrim in 1872 and died on 27th March 1943 in Glasgow. His mother was Minnie Olive Clark, born in 1873 in Armagh and died on 22nd November 1952 in Glasgow.

As Robert Joseph junior worked on the ships, he may have died at sea.
