Ship manifest
« on: Tuesday 10 October 17 17:45 BST (UK) »
Hi all, I'm having trouble reading the name of my ancestor's father on this ship manifest. We're looking at line 19 under Clementina Tropeano. In the column for "Name and complete address of nearest relative or friend in country whence alien came" I can't make out the name of her father. I believe these are written surname first typically. I won't say what I think it might be to keep others objective.

Thanks for the help! This is currently the best quality I can find.

Thanks, this is the index for the manifest that I attached. Unfortunately the column I'm interested in wasn't indexed so I can't make out her father's name.

I don't think the listing is surname then first name...some of the ones above are first name surname.

Giacomo or Chesiano Maognes or Magna or Megna or Magne

Thanks for the replies. I think what it says is "Moriano, Marzio" which was the name of Clementina's father-in-law rather than her actual father as the manifest indicates. But I'm also not sure if I've just convinced myself that I see this.

It looks like Angelo Mariano to me.
