Census Copy LookUp Please
« on: Wednesday 18 October 17 09:19 BST (UK) »
From Family Search the Transcriber could not work out most of the names. Perhaps some one not on a time limit might have better luck. Page 43 Reg HO 107  P/F 700/24
They are on Clapton Rd Hackney and what is transcribed is Mary Baker 25-29, Ann Baker 12,  Eli Brown  15-19, Eliza James 6 and 7 others.
I am interested in the potential Combs and if Baker might be Barker

Have you looked at an original copy, and not a transcription?
Will be available on Ancestry, FindMyPast, The Genealogist and other sites.

The transcriber actually did very well indeed to decipher any names because the image for this lower portion of this page is so faint.  Mary and Ann are the only ones who are fairly clear - and the surname is definitely Baker, plus Eli Brown.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!
If you don't ask the question, you won't get an answer.
