Thank you so much Ian
I have been flipping between these records and google translate
I am now pretty certain that the parents of Jenny Ragnhild are indeed the couple I seek. I believe strongly that they are also the parents of the 3 brothers who came to Canada.
However based on what I will explain next, I do not think the Oskar you found in 1863 is the father though.
As using Jenny's birth, or rather her name, I was able to get into a tree at MyHeritage and another at Geni.
The MyHeritage tree is in Finnish (I used translate and of course I think a few things were lost in translation) but while I am not a member, it showed Jenny with my three guys and more! Seems that the three brothers that came to Canada were members of a much larger family - there were 8 siblings
In fact there are a few trees at MyHeritage for this family all Finnish and none that I can access fully but it seems piecing them together from what I saw my 3 guys father's full name was:
Heikki Oskari Mattila, Pajunen.
Heikki was born on May 15 1869, in Humppila.
His father was Kaarlo Töykkälä, Mattila
The boys mother was:
Jenny Maria Kustaant. Mattila, Pajunen (born Kylänpää)
Jenny was born 23. December 1869 in Kuusjoki
Her father was Gustaf Adolf KeskitaloSo now I do have a question for you Ian and it has to do with their last names or surnames or whatever...
They seem a a bit odd?
Why the "Mattila" before the Pajunen? And the Kustaant Mattila in the case of Jenny?
And then their fathers have different surnames too???
Can you perhaps enlighten me as to how surnames worked in Finland back then?
Thanks so much Ian for the hand here
I am going to send you a PM as I have tried to use HisKi for another individual I am seeking but am not having any luck.
