Prize Fighting at Turton Fair
« on: Thursday 02 November 17 12:40 GMT (UK) »
Dear Friends,
Turton Fair (Turton Village, Bolton) which was annually held in early September was one of the oldest in United Kingdom and existed during 1300-1930. Prize Fighting contests were essential part of it and champions of all South Lancashire towns were honored to go there and represent their town/village/parish at Turton Fair Championships.
Please let me know if anyone has any info on this subject,I would highly appreciate that.
Thanks.Kind regards, Ruslan.
