Western Australia - obtaining a dc
« on: Tuesday 07 November 17 09:47 GMT (UK) »
Hi all
I have just received a dc by post that I ordered from Western Australia some weeks ago.  Based on the information in that dc I now need to order another one.

My query is - Is there anyway to get a digital copy of a dc rather than via the very slow process by post?  The dc is only needed for family history purposes.  I have read the instructions on the website however it does not appear to be an option.  I wondered whether I may have missed something?

Thanks in advance.

Unless you require a certified certificate for legal reasons, uncertified copies which are cheaper are adequate for family history research but the response time will be the same.

There may be other information available eg in the newspapers of the day, however you haven't posted any names.

Hi cando

Thanks for your reply.  Yes thank you I have all this information as I have previously obtained a d/c. I  was thinking or ordering another d/c and just wondered if I could apply and receive this digitally rather than by post and thought maybe I'd missed something.

I have tried newspapers but then I always wonder if I've missed something somehow.

I'll pm you with further details (just in case!)
