Looking at it again the last line does look like 'sowing turnip'.

Thank you to all who tried to decipher this writing. We now think this is what it says:

This is Tom, Baby, Bernie, Jack Lynam  sowing turnips June 1945

Bernie and Tom are 1st cousins and the other short guy Jack is the neighbour Jack Lynam apparently and yes they lived  on a farm so sowing turnips seemed most likely  here is the photo and thanks for your help. We still don't know who the baby is but we think it must be Toms as he is holding her.
