Seeking some assistance to decipher what the charge is.
« on: Saturday 18 November 17 05:05 GMT (UK) »
Across the top I am fairly certain I have:
Name      Prosecutor      Charge           Date How disposed of.

On the line immediately below 1850 I think I have:
Hamilton Benjamin   Marg Hamilton     ???Assault    28 ????  to Peace  and then what appears to be monetary fines.

Any assistance would be very gratefully accepted

After 25 I wonder if it could be a shortened version of Breach to Peace??

Kay99, thank you for that information.

With your suggestion, it certainly looks like that. I simply could not work it out.

Sue just beat me to it !
I agree: "Bound over to keep the peace".  The idea is to discourage him from assaulting his wife (?) again. It looks as though he was fined 5 pds for the offence and would be liable for another 10pds if he broke the bond.

I can't see any fines or penalties here. At this date, fines would normally be in shillings and pence, not £5.

As I see it, the bond was put up at £10, provided by 2 people standing surety at £5 each.

£10 per 2 £5
