I have found James Walker ( father of Emily) as a Captain living at Canal Boats, Cut End, Ashby, Leicestershire in 1891. There is a possible death in Rugby Reg district in 1893.

There doesn’t appear to be a 1911 census schedule for 56 Floodgate St. Those for houses either side are there.
could that might of been a boat because my mum told me they live and worked on boats as they are canal people.

I have barge people in my family and I have found them on all census  at various parts of the canals and basins but they always seem to have returned to their base for the children's baptism, one mother had 14 children all born on a barge, I am sure they will be listed on the census

I think that James Walker may be the grandfather of George Herbert Walker. I believe that George was the illegitimate son of a Emily Walker, daughter of James. However you need to check this out by purchasing appropriate certificates.
