ipad problem
« on: Saturday 25 November 17 22:17 GMT (UK) »
Recently my ipad keeps 'losing' the site i am looking at with-----The web page is not available' and underneath in blue ----Try again.

It has been doing this on various websites recently quite a lot, i was reading about 'strictly' just now and it did it yet again.

I start reading and scrolling down the page and then - whoosh - the blooming page vanishes  ???

My ipad has always behaved itself until the last couple of weeks but it is happening so often now that it is becoming beyond just annoying  >:(

Any clues from anyone?  :)

Daughter who works for Apple said there could be a number of things causing your problem, but suggests that it could be the wifi signal, and said try resetting the network settings first:

Try Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings

Which ipad do you have?

Have you switched it fully off - leave for a minute - then turn on again.  Can sometimes just clear any gremlins but no guarantees.

Thanks to both Ruskie and CaroleW for replies.

I have a 4 year old Apple. -----I had a look at the settings as suggested but am nervous at pressing anything in case I lose everything! . I am what you might call "technically challenged!!!"  ;D

However, I shall be brave and press 'reset network settings'. If you don't hear from me again you'll know something went wrong   ;)

P.S. On second thoughts I will try the on/off suggestion first and if that doesn't help will do the re-set bit.

Pol,

Daughter says you should not lose anything if you reset the network settings, but advises that you do a backup first if you have any concerns just to be on the safe side.  :)

Looked on Google re how to do a backup on iPad and am completely ' lost' !!

They mention 'cloud' --- don't have a clue---HELP  ???

Have tried the on/off suggestion which didn't work and whilst Googling the page I was reading re backup it vanished.

Is there a simple way to backup an iPad please.  :)

I occasionally have problems with viewing pages using the Google app on Ipad.I normally delete the app and then re install from App Store and that solves the problem.
