interesting death- inquest papers? Gibson
« on: Wednesday 20 December 17 10:50 GMT (UK) »
i have been taking advantage of the GRO £6 PDF for BMD certificates and one has proved very interesting. My relative died from an illness brought on by alcohol and there was an inquest. Does anyone know how I might find a copy of the inquest papers to read more about the death?

John Gibson died 18th July 1899. Living at 83 queen street Hulme Manchester at the time. he was 52 years old and married to Sarah Gibson nee Masterson. A lorry driver. Previously worked for Robert Gibson & Sons. he was baptised 12 March 1848, not sure of birth date - still trying to find that!

thanks for your thoughts and time

You will only get John Gibsons birth date by purchasing his Birth Cert.

Trish :)

My 2 x g.grandfather died due to excessive alcohol in 1865 and there was a coroner's inquest, but though an archivist at the record office did a thorough search for me, there was nothing in the records.  She said most coroners' inquest reports are not archived.
