Can you list all the details on death certificate for Ann. Years in the colony would help to know when she left Queensland.

Here is a memoriam and obit to Ann LOCKETT (I'm guessing this was Ann WHITTAKER who remarried in 1882 to Thomas LOCKETT?).

Unfortunately it is mostly religious rather than helpful with family history.  It does say that she spent 7 years in Queensland and then 23 years in NSW.

I have this memorium for Ann, it does give some info that I didn't know.  Its the record of the death of Thomas that I cant find, its a mystery, iv even thought that they may have gone their seperate ways and Ann just said she was a widow, but wasn't.

Yes Kledger I have been looking for a death for Thomas WHITTAKER (using wildcards to capture various spellings) in NSW and Queensland without success.  So I went looking for an obit to Ann in the faint hope that it gave some details of the death of her first husband.

Unfortunately (from a family history viewpoint) it was mainly concerned with her spiritual experiences.

However it did answer wivenhoe's question about approximately when she went to NSW.

Im going to be very cheeky now, but iv just been looking again for Thomas Whittaker and iv found an entry in the UK inward passenger lists from 1878 onwards, in the index on Ancestry, a Thomas Whittaker, from Brisbane to London. I dont have a subscription for Ancestry, would someone who has, be kind enough to look for me please. Its a long shot, but im wondering if he came back.

Ive had a look on Ancestry for a Thomas Whittaker leaving Brisbane and returning to London, however I dont think they are the right Thomas. The only few that I can find, say that Thomas Whittaker was born between 1880 and 1886.

Unless I am looking in the completely wrong spot, i dont think that is the Thomas Whittaker for this post.
