Divorce records
« on: Monday 22 January 18 14:28 GMT (UK) »
Hi, I'm researching my husbands family, especially his grandfather, seems he wasn't a good husband and he ended up leaving the family home, leaving his wife and children. His name was Ronald Meeds born 1911 in Spilsby, lincolnshire, married Alice Mary Gosling his last child was born 1942. Is there anyway I can find out if they divorced? My husbands mother did not speak of him and sadly she was the last link.

Thanks
Wilson, Gosling, Coupland, Reeson, Clark, Meeds, Fowler, Walker, Gledhill

I wonder if this article is relevant:
Wornigate. Boston, applied for separation order am maintenance on the grounds o' persistent cruelty against her husband, Ronald Meeds, a gunner Mr. J. R. Penlstan appeared for the wife and Mr. W. G. Hammond for the husband. “I think we are quite agreed

There is a 1945 marriage for Ronald Meeds in the Boston District to Evelyn M McGrandler - that marriage certificate will say if he was divorced.

There is a newspaper report -  Lincolnshire Standard and Boston Guardian 29 December 1945
He was a P.O in the royal navy - previously worked for Woolworths -only son of Mr & Mrs T Meeds -will be living in Glasgow after marriage

Evelyn M McGrandler can't be another wife as Ronald's father was Henry Meeds

Thanks for looking though.

So if she applied for separation order does this mean they were divorced or just a process before divorce?
