St Mary’s Saffron Walden Marriage lookup 1584

I have recently found a marriage licence for Robert Scotred and Martha Aylwarde dated 13.08.1584 which refers to Walden, Essex and would really appreciate anyone with access to the PR's or transcripts checking to see if there is any additional information.

I appreciate that it is unlikely but then again ......

On as aside, any ideas as to why I could not attached the licence information?

Did he marry twice in 1584?

No, considering how unusual Scortred is as a surname, having 2 Roberts marrying in the same year is not what one might expect.

The one that married Martha Aylwarde died in Wisbech in 1588, one of 2 Roberts who died 5 days apart!!

I am still trying to work out where the Robert that married Alice Sonne @ Colchester fits in.

btw I do not have a complete date for the SW marriage.

Robert scortrell married Martha ailward 31st Aug 1584 at st Mary’s saffron Waldon.

Thanks, Scortrell (this time), that's the 3rd spelling for this young man 

Oh well, I was hoping it would tell me when he was born, names of both parents. full address, etc

I’ll look back and see if the records go tha5 far. Not seen the licence, which might have more information. This was the marriage record in the Parish records.

He was buried as a Scottrell (spelling no 4)

Ha don’t found Robert ye5, but Martha was baptised 2 Feb 1562. Father was William aylward, as you saw on licence.
