Moody family of Sheffield
« on: Saturday 27 January 18 21:31 GMT (UK) »
Looking for any connections to John William Moody and his wife Florence Moody nee Crossley. Both died at 62 Hunsley Street, Sheffield, in the flu epidemic of 1937.  John William was born c1873 in Lincolnshire.
There was a daughter to one of them: S***** Moody: Sheffield June Q 1941, mother's maiden name Taylor
It's the Crossley ancestry I am interested in, just trying a difference tactic here!

Rootschat has a no living persons policy so the daughters name needs to be removed from your post as she was only born in 1941

Have you looked for a marriage between a Moody and a Taylor?

I could not understand how Sylvia born 1941 can be a daughter to either of them if they both died in 1937.

Presumably you mean a granddaughter, and a daughter to one of their children.

Get the birth certificate for parents' names.

Added:
As John and Florence were married by 1901 census, then that could even (just) be a great-granddaughter in 1941 - have you got other posts about the same family as you mention a different tactic?

Who was Florence's father from the marriage certificate?

I'm sorry, half my original post is missing! So sorry for the confusion. I'll have to amend it when I have the computer on with all the details. Florence and John William had two sons Fred and Ernest. They both married girls named Taylor, in 1939 if my memory is correct. Both men are now dead. I forgot about the living persons policy, I do apologise. My reason for going down this route is to find more out about Florence's mother, Elizabeth Crossley, the most stubborn ancestor I have. Thank you for your replies.

Yes, I saw those two Moody/Taylor marriages.
