NB, though the Northumberland parish list within the BT's on Family Search  does not have Birtley listed,
https://www.familysearch.org/search/image/index?owc=9K5M-L29%3A13617901%3Fcc%3D1309819

the images for Birtley BTs are online for 1769-1834 if you need to look at them.

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QSQ-G967-PSJ3?cat=1827352

Tip: if the parish you are looking for does not appear in the main list, then search the catalogue for a placename using the format Country/County/Placename. If there are BTS listed for the church records, click the camera icon for that entry and it will take you directly to them.

You can also go to http://maps.familysearch.org/ enter Birtley in search and chose Birtley, Northumberland. On the map you will get a box with various options
What would you like to do?

List contiguous parishes
Radius place search
Search the Family History Library Catalog
Search the Family History Historical Records
Search the FamilySearch Research Wiki
Remove selection

Chose "Search the Family History Library Catalog" This shows you what is available for the parish,
then "To view digital images of these England, Durham Diocese Bishop's Transcripts, click here. Not available on microfilm."
